January 2017 Newsletter

Hi folks,

A brief note to share a few opportunities that have come to my attention.

Stuttgart Meeting

A quick reminder that the Stuttgart group is meeting on Saturday January 21st in the children’s section (2nd floor) of Stuttgart library at 10.30 am. Please let Catherine (cjfriess@gmx.com) know if you are coming and especially if you staying for lunch afterwards so she can make a reservation if necessary.

Opportunity for authors

Member Cherie Parenteau asked me to share this with all our members:

The Cologne International School  http://www.if-koeln.de/en/   is looking for for an author or illustrator to come talk to our primary school on World Book Day March 10th, 2017.  He or she would lead two 45-minute sessions one for the 1st and 2nd grade classes and the other for the 3rd and 4th grade classes.  The event is unpaid, but the author or illustrator is allowed to sell his or her work at our school.  If interested, please contact: Cherie Parenteau by January 31st at cherie.parenteau@if-koeln.de

Learning Opportunity

Montana SCBWI has created a unique opportunity for you to improve your writing craft, find motivation to push forward, and work together with a group of other children's literature writers and illustrators. Our nine month long program is called Stepping Stones to Success. This program is our version of what you might find in a semester of an MFA program. We'll provide instruction, assignments, sharing opportunities, and support. If you've been looking for a way to revive your writing and take it to the next level, this is your chance. Here's the link for more information and to register. We hope you will join us!

Everything is online and is open to all across the world. For more information visit the website at: https://montana.scbwi.org/events/stepping-stones-to-success/

All my best and happy creating!
